Did you wake up this morning and look at your dimpled butt and thighs? Did you think your weight loss didn't do a bit of good? Well you're wrong! Losing those
pounds is always good. What you may be seeing is a skin condition referred to as cellulite. The tips here will help you get a better understanding of the difference of having cellulite and being overweight.
It is important for you to understand that you and more than ninety percent of all women are afflicted with cellulite. Yes, even those run way models and the sexiest movie stars may have those embarrassing ripples and dimples on their bodies. As you may have noticed on your body, cellulite is particularly noticeable on the outside of the thighs, on the back of your legs and in the buttocks.
Now, were you aware that just because you have the dimpled butt and thighs that does not mean you are overweight? “No way!” you say. Yes, that is right because you will find this skin condition in men and women who don’t have an ounce of extra weight on them. In fact studies have shown that many underweight women have the same problem with their bodies. This skin condition is believed, by many professionals, to be caused by a failure of your body to eliminate the waste products you generate naturally.
Part of the reason it is so common, not only with women and to a lesser degree men, is that today’s modern lifestyle is not conducive to having a cellulite free body. If you have a stress filled life, studies have shown that this physical aliment will develop early on. In addition smoking has been linked to excessive dimpling of the tummy, thighs and body extremities. Furthermore alcohol and failure to exercise are primary contributors to this condition.
As we stated above being overweight is not the cause, but it contributes to the underlying health problems and makes the dimpling even worse.
Therefore weight loss, even though it won’t get rid of the cellulite, will definitely make an improvement in the way your body looks. In fact if your weight gain has been from eating the wrong foods it is believed diet is one of the major causes of this skin problem.
Not only does the wrong diet cause the extra fat, but it also can bring about a hormone in balance. It has been shown that hormones are directly related to the development of the rippled and dimpled skin. Therefore you should check with your physician and determine if there is a hormone problem and weight problem. Once you have done this, between the two of you, a plan can be formulated which will help you reduce the cellulite and lose weight.
However, it is
portant for you to know that there is no magic pill or miracle drug which will improve your condition overnight. In fact there is no cure for cellulite. But a combination of a lifestyle change (no smoking and moderate alcohol consumption), exercise, a healthy diet and major reduction of stress will improve your appearance and weight loss.
